Graham Vials is a Partner in the employment department.
Graham specialises in providing commercial advice to predominately employer clients, advising on a full range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters to a variety of private and public sector clients, ranging from owner-managed businesses to large national companies, schools and academies and government departments and local authorities.
Graham provides pragmatic and strategic advice in respect of all day to day HR and employment related matters and has expertise in all aspects of employment law, including dealing with disciplinary and performance issues, grievances, discrimination, dismissal, breach of contract, pay and benefits and business restructures.
Graham is also a keen advocate and has successfully brought and defended Employment Tribunal claims around the country for a variety of private and public sector clients and individual employees. Specific examples include:-
- Successfully defending a number of Employment Tribunal claims brought against a government department, including unfair dismissal, disability discrimination and race discrimination claims.
- Acting for a social housing company and successfully defending unfair dismissal, disability discrimination and race discrimination claims.
- Advising an ex-employee of a manufacturing business and issuing Employment Tribunal proceedings, resulting in a six-figure award of compensation.
