Amy joined Ward Hadaway's Manchester office in Spring 2025. Amy is a solicitor specialising in Commercial Dispute Resolution and has a breadth of experiencing dealing with a variety of commercial disputes.

Amy has expertise in company shareholder and director disputes, general commercial disputes acting for both private companies and individuals, and property dispute work assisting public sector authorities, landlords and tenants.

Amy’s experience also includes litigation listed in the High Court, Tax Tribunal and litigation that became the subject of judicial review proceedings.

Amy’s experience includes:

  • Assisting in the preparation of and attending the hearing of one of the largest tax tribunal appeals in respect of duty suspended alcohol assessments stemming from allegations of fraudulent trading.
  • General litigation matters; representing private companies and individuals from the outset of a dispute throughout the lifetime of the matter, achieving the best outcome possible for her clients.
  • Handling property dispute matters, acting for clients in the public sector, landlords and tenants.
  • Negotiating and finalising settlement agreements as a form of alternative dispute resolution (‘ADR’) to avoid having to go to trial where appropriate for her client.
  • Assisting and advising in the preparation of mediation as a form of ADR.
  • Acting in a team instructed by a major wholesaler in an appeal against tax losses of around £3.5 million arising from VAT defaults in its supply chain.
  • Representing postmasters in the GLO Compensation Scheme following postmasters’ win at the ‘Post Office Trial’.
  • Particular expertise in construction centred tax disputes, including a claim by HMRC involving the Construction Industry Scheme with a value of £2.5 million which was the subject of judicial review proceedings.
