Katy is a member of Ward Hadaway’s specialist Public Sector Property team where she advises a wide variety of public sector clients, including NHS Foundation Trusts, Local Authorities and Academies on all aspects of property law.
She also manages the day to day property requirements for a regional international airport.
Katy has experience dealing with all aspects of commercial property transactions including sales and acquisitions of freehold and leasehold property, dealing with acquisitions of residential freehold property portfolios for a national ground rent investor, drafting and negotiating commercial leases and associated lease documentation, both on behalf of landlords and tenants.
In the area of property finance, Katy has acted for various commercial banks securing high value loans against property portfolios in both commercial and residential sectors.
She has also acted on various matters with regard to securing loan financing to third sector organisations.
Katy has experience working with Ward Hadaway’s insolvency department on the property aspects of insolvency deals and has acted for administrators and liquidators in the transfer of freehold and leasehold properties.
She has also worked for public sector clients, having experience in providing advice and support to schools on Academies, which has involved advising on the procedure, documentation, governance structures and charity law aspects of the new Academy scheme.
