Martin is an experienced Partner specialising in corporate transactional work. He is part of our Corporate team based in Teesside.
Martin’s corporate transactional practice involves him acting for corporate entities, sellers, buyers, banks, private equity firms, insolvency practitioners and investors across a range of sales, acquisitions, reorganisations, restructurings, distressed deals, inbound funding, equity buy-outs, management buy-outs, fund exits and financing arrangements.
Martin also provides advice in other areas of general corporate law such as shareholder arrangements, constitutional and governance matters and share schemes.
Martin is experienced across a broad range of sectors including leisure, recruitment, hospitality, engineering, manufacturing, energy and technology. His client base ranges from local SMEs to multinational corporations.
Martin delivers efficient, pragmatic and commercially focussed legal advice with service delivery being the central focus of everything he does. He is ranked as a ‘next generation partner’ in the Legal 500 guide.

- Acting for a SaaS company in relation to multiple investments (equity and debt) from various institutional and angel investors.
- Acting for national professional advisory group in an investment and partial exit and then acting in respect of the restructure and eventual sale of the same group to a private equity backed buyer.
- Acting for a national leisure company in an investment and partial exit with a total deal value of circa £45m.
- Acting for the shareholders of a bioscience company in its sale to a US private equity backed buyer.
- Acting for a German company in its entry into the UK market via a series of acquisitions and investments.
- Acting for the shareholders of a recruitment company in the sale of the company to a private equity backed international buyer.
- Acting for the shareholders of an engineering firm in the sale of the company to a private equity backed buyer.
- Acting for the shareholders of a distribution company in the sale of the company to an international buyer for circa £25m.
- Acting for the shareholders of a holiday lettings company in the sale of the company to a national consolidator.
- Acting for the shareholders of a technology company in the partial sale and partial merger of that company to/with a national angel investment backed company with a total deal value of circa £15m.
