Abigail is a second-year Trainee Solicitor in our Commercial team, based in our Newcastle office.
Abigail is currently part of the Commercial team where she assists on a broad range of commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters. She has been involved in preparing documentation for company restructuring, reviewing, and drafting contracts and policies, and undertaking research.
Previously, Abigail sat within the Private Client Team, assisting with Powers of Attorney, Wills, estate planning, estate administration, and trusts. During this time, she gained a variety of drafting experience, regularly attended meetings, communicated directly with clients, and has gained experience leading a client meeting.
Prior to this, Abigail assisted the Family team on various matters including divorce and civil partnership proceedings, financial matters following separation, children disputes, as well as pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements. She regularly assisted in taking calls for initial enquiries, arranging for documents to be exchanged, preparing bundles and taking detailed attendance notes for meetings, hearings and a barrister-assisted mediation.
Abigail began her Training Contract in the Real Estate department, where she assisted on a broad range of commercial property matters with various members of the team. This involved drafting reports, leases and various land registry documents, as well as working on transfers, purchases, leases, surrenders, and adverse possession.
She has also been involved in the Gateshead Mentoring Scheme throughout her Training Contract, providing mentoring to local sixth form students.
