Acting for both companies and senior executives, Chris is recognised in the UK legal directories of Chamber and Legal 500 in the field of employment law.
Chris’ work includes advising on company re-organisations, TUPE, injunctive relief, and enforcement of restrictive covenants. Clients are predominantly in the recruitment, manufacturing, automotive supply chain and further education sectors.
Chris is an accredited trainer on employment law and HR practices to SMEs, owner-managed businesses and FTSE 250 companies. He is a legal advisor to executive boards and senior management teams as well as advising business clients on day-to-day employment issues. Chris has experience in drafting service agreements to include bespoke restrictive covenants as well as advising on company restructures, redundancy processes and the removal of directors, notably where a considered approach is required to protect the parties’ respective reputations.
Experience
Projects on which Chris has advised include:
- Advising on the TUPE issues involved in the transfer of the IT team from a UK plc to their Germany operations.
- Training and the provision of day-to-day advice to the regional and store managers of a major supermarket retailer on employment law and good HR practices.
- Acting on behalf of a College of Further Education in the defence of several multi-day employment tribunal claims citing disability, whistleblowing, and unfair dismissal.
- Assisting a Managing Director in their exit from a UK plc and negotiating both their exit package and the removal of restrictive covenants to enable their career to progress unhindered.
