Alex is a Partner in the Commercial Litigation team and is a highly experienced commercial lawyer, principally specialising in property litigation, construction and disputes with a cross-border or international element.
Alex regularly advises corporate clients in respect of complex freehold and leasehold property disputes and developments including issues as to the interpretation of legal documentation, construction, dilapidations, service charges, adverse possession, site clearances and allegations of breaches of covenant.
Experience
With nearly 20 years of legal experience, Alex brings great expertise in advising clients in cross-border and disputes with an international element.
Recent experience includes advising European corporate entities as to the enforcement of arbitral awards and judgments in England and Wales, the conflict of laws and jurisdictional challenges. Alex is so highly thought of in this area that he has received instructions directly from legal firms in France and Belgium.
Alex further qualified as a notary public in 2012 further to obtaining the postgraduate diploma in Notarial Practice from the University of Cambridge. This gives him the ability to authenticate and certify documents, as well as the authority to attest signatures and corporate documents for international companies’ use outside of England & Wales.
A notary public is an internationally recognised public office and Alex is appointed by the office of the Archbishop of Canterbury to carry out this function in England and Wales.
