Energy company moves into new HQ with help from Ward Hadaway
15th October, 2014
COMMERCIAL energy supplier CNG has moved into a new purpose-built HQ with help from property experts at law firm Ward Hadaway.
CNG, the UK’s leading independent supplier of natural gas for business, has just moved into a new 10,000 sq ft HQ office at No.2 Victoria Avenue in Harrogate.
The office is now home to almost 100 staff at the company, which provides natural gas to SMEs across the UK in sectors including leisure, retail, hospitality and residential care.
The property team in the Leeds office of law firm Ward Hadaway provided legal advice to CNG on the move, which sees it occupy the second and third floors at the Victoria Avenue offices on a 10-year lease.
The relocation increases CNG’s office space by 4,000 sq ft and consolidates its operations within one property, having previously been spread across two buildings on the same site.
It gives CNG space to grow as it pursues its aims to more than double its share of the commercial gas market from the current 4% to 10% within the next ten years, as well as expanding its operations on the electricity supply side of the business.
Kevin Weston, Partner in the Property Team at Ward Hadaway in Leeds, led the firm’s team advising CNG on the relocation, with support from Laura Potts (Property) and Neil Williamson (Construction).
Kevin said: “This is a significant move for CNG so it was vital that we ensured everything was right for the company to give it the room to grow which its ongoing success requires.
“Our experienced team worked with the company and other professional services providers on the relocation to help things to go smoothly.
“We are delighted to have played our part in the move and we wish everyone at CNG the very best in their new home.”
Jacqui Hall, MD of CNG Ltd added: “We worked with a large team of Yorkshire businesses to make this move. The team at Ward Hadaway played a vital role in helping us to secure our new premises.
“We now have a space which is fit for purpose and communicates our vision for CNG as a growing, ambitious energy supplier.”
