Welcome to Housing Management Law School

Social housing is a sector which never stays still and where new developments, policies and procedures occur on a regular basis. So how do you keep up with the changes and still maintain your operational focus?

This is where Ward Hadaway’s Housing Management Law School comes in.

Twice a year, the School delivers training to Registered Providers of Social Housing across the country, educating and update housing management staff with the legal knowledge that they need.

In a format which mixes learning with networking, experts from Ward Hadaway and invited special guest tutors deliver:

  • comprehensive updates on latest developments and news affecting the sector
  • a special focus on a Hot Topic of the moment
  • a Revision Session looking in-depth at frequently encountered situations
  • an interactive Q&A session allowing you to quiz the experts

The emphasis in Law School sessions is always on practical, usable guidance, often using real-life examples.

The aim is to provide you with everything you need to keep yourself up to date with crucial changes in this fast-moving area, whether you work in a housing association, a local authority or in other organisations in the social housing sector.

We think the Housing Management Law School offers a great combination of learning, interaction and networking – but what do others think?

Here are a few of the responses we have had to previous sessions:

“The entire course was pitched perfectly, highly relevant, and kept up right up to date with important changes in housing law. The interactive nature was also excellent. Both speakers clearly know their areas extremely well. Couldn’t fault today’s course.” – David Traynor, In-House Solicitor at South Tyneside Council.

“Thank you for running the session – it was very informative.” – Bethany Bilby, Legal Officer, Selby District Council

“As a lawyer I greatly appreciated the legal update and combining the practical view of hoarding provided by your guest speakers with a review of the law in that area was a good approach. I found it really useful.” – Keith Wilkinson, Solicitor, Broadacres Housing Association

“I found it all enjoyable. All speakers were really well informed about the practicalities as well as the law.” – Ian Hunter, Home Life Tenancy Manager, Changing Lives

“Very informative seminar with relevant and useful legal updates.” – Fiona Forster, Project Worker, Oasis Aquila Housing

“The informal set-up is definitely conducive to assessing the content of the seminar.” – Neil Freeman, Property Support Lawyer, Home Group Limited
