Welcome to Clinical risk management

Risk management advice needs to be effective and focused.

Our team has risk management at the forefront of their minds when dealing with any claims and Inquests.

We provide practical advice and training on all aspects of clinical risk management.

We participate in various initiatives with our clients to ensure that risks and trends are identified and reduced. The following are examples of these initiatives.

We can provide quarterly risk meetings to our clients to discuss the trends and claims identified. These meetings are usually with the claims manager from the Trust, the Medical Director and the Clinical Director of a particular speciality. At these meetings we discuss the issues that we have identified and the ways which these can be prevented in the future. Our clients find this useful and informative.

We can also feedback trends and pertinent issues we encounter, from serious incident reports and from issues identified at inquests to assist clients in their risk management.

We have provided significant support to our clients in relation to serious incidents and their investigation.

This includes advising about the terms of reference at the start of the process, providing advice from a legal perspective about the content of the report once drafted and advising on the subsequent disclosure of these reports to patients, family members, the Coroner and other relevant parties.

We have also assisted with the production of robust template SI report documentation. We run a very popular and practical course about the drafting of SI reports.

Our very popular Claims Networking Group enables clients to discuss issues of clinical risk in an open format.

Our service includes advice on and assistance with the following:

  • Advice on the production of responses to complaints
  • Advising on issues arising as a result of claims, complaints or inquests or following a serious incident
  • Advising on the preparation for inquests and identifying trends in issues arising from these
  • Reviewing serious incident reports and advice on their disclosure.
  • The provision of training and updates with regards to risk management issues raised by NHS Resolution
