Imaan Choudry

She has experience in both employment and business immigration, regularly advising clients on both areas. She focuses on building strong relationships with her clients in order to understand how their organisations operate so she can better advise and support. Imaan values working with clients to help them develop further and put strategies for growth into place which connects with her experience in business immigration and the potential recruitment opportunities that can afford a business.

Experience

• Imaan trained at an international law firm, during which time she was seconded to a global retail client. After dual-qualifying, she has worked with international, national and local clients to support them with both employment and immigration matters.
• Alongside her employment practice, Imaan has a developing specialism in business immigration and is expanding her knowledge in individual immigration alongside that. As part of her immigration specialism, she regularly assists clients with complying with their sponsor duties, obtaining a sponsor licence and sponsoring employees, auditing right to work checks and practices as well as delivering regular training on this.
• Imaan has experience in employment issues arising from mergers and acquisitions, including corporate due diligence and embedding new employees.
• Imaan also regularly represents clients across different sectors at the employment tribunal and most recently has been listed as the legal representative on a multi-respondent matter involving whistleblowing, unfair dismissal, breach of contract and discrimination claims.
• Additionally, Imaan has experience in assisting clients with day-to-day employment advice ranging from handling grievance or sickness procedures or supporting with strategic settlement discussions.
