Ward Hadaway, especially Heather Armstrong and Emily Stott have been fantastic in their support and advice from their inception of my matrimonial dispute and following court appearance with the family court regarding a different dispute. Emily is a third-year Solicitor Apprentice, based in our Newcastle office.
Emily is currently part of the Family & Matrimonial team, with previous experience in the Debt Recovery team. She has acted for both businesses and individuals, and is enjoying developing her knowledge of family proceedings.
Emily is involved in a range of matters, including divorce, matrimonial finances, child arrangements, nuptial agreements and non-molestation proceedings. This includes a variety of drafting, correspondence with the courts and other family and financial professionals, as well as involvement in a collaborative working environment whereby we actively encourage amicable communication between parties and opposing counsel, and seek cost-effective and amicable results for clients.
As a member of the Debt Recovery team, she acted for a range of businesses in county court and insolvency proceedings. In harmony with her development in the team, Emily gained significant experience in managing her own caseload.
In addition to her role as Solicitor Apprentice, Emily is a committee member of the Newcastle Young Professionals Forum; a community for like-minded and motivated individuals to share ideas, practice and knowledge in an effort to develop and progress within each of our professions and enhance our contacts across the region.
