3 Points North
10th August 2018
As part of Ward Hadaway’s 30th anniversary celebrations, more than 50 of our people will team up this September to run a non-stop relay between our offices in Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle – all in the name of charities COCO and Greggs Foundation!
Please visit our Virgin Money Giving page to add your support.
Come rain or shine, our team of sprightly runners will complete the 135-mile relay over approximately 34 hours, covering terrain including city streets, busy roads and rambling countryside.
Ward Hadaway’s Managing Partner Martin Hulls will get things under way from the firm’s office in The Observatory in Manchester on September 13th and a relay of runners will head to Wellington Place in Leeds and arrive at Ward Hadaway’s headquarters on the Quayside in Newcastle on the 14th.
We would be really grateful for any support you can give, small or large. All funds raised will go to two fantastic charities – COCO (who provide sustainable sources of quality education to children living in poor and marginalised communities) and Greggs Foundation (to support their Greggs Breakfast Club Programme, helping primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day). Together the pair of sports enthusiasts have cranked up around 5000 miles between them in various races across the globe, having taken part in running events from the London Marathon to the Tokyo Marathon, the Marathon des Sables in the Sahara and a 100-mile non-stop race through Yellowstone National Park.
They will be joined by 50 enthusiastic/mad colleagues as well as Team GB athlete Laura Weightman. The 26-year-old British middle-distance runner from Alnwick in Northumberland, who recently won the 1500m title at the British Athletics Championships, is supporting us by running the last leg of the 135-mile relay along Newcastle’s Quayside with the Ward Hadaway team.
The relay is also being supported by former Olympic athlete Steve Cram CBE, who is Laura’s coach and also a co-founder of COCO. Steve has sent our runners some words of encouragement via video.
All donations are welcome, so please visit our Virgin Money Giving page to add your support.
