- In individual redundancy cases that don’t involve collective consultation, it is important to allow employees to comment on and challenge (if appropriate) the reasons for the redundancy and ways of avoiding the redundancy, the selection criteria and their scores against the criteria. When moving on to consider alternative employment opportunities employers should do more than provide a list of vacancies and should put some effort into exploring what roles the employee may be interested in, even if that is a move away from the type of work they were doing.
