Somer started her training contract with Ward Hadaway in September 2025 and is currently a Trainee sitting in the Real Estate department in Teesside.
Since joining the firm, Somer has gained experience in Commercial Litigation and Corporate, developing an understanding of both contentious and transactional legal work.
During her Commercial Litigation seat, Somer gained experience in debt recovery and insolvency matters, assisting with legal research, drafting correspondence and legal documentation, and supporting fee earners with case management.
She then joined the Corporate team where she gained experience in acquisitions, reorganisations and other company law matters. During this seat, Somer assisted with drafting transaction and ancillary documents, undertaking legal due diligence exercises and coordinating post-completion formalities. This experience strengthened her commercial awareness and reinforced her interest in transactional, client-focused work.
In her current Real Estate seat, Somer is developing her knowledge of commercial property matters, assisting with acquisitions and disposals, due diligence and property management matters.
Before starting her training contract, Somer graduated from the University of Manchester in 2024. She subsequently completed a Master of Laws in Legal Practice, incorporating the Legal Practice Course, at Northumbria University in 2025.
