Laurence is a solicitor in our Manchester office's Commercial Litigation Department.
The team assists and advises across a broad range of litigious matters and supports our clients from the earliest stages of the matter through to resolution. Laurence is responsible for preparing pre-action correspondence, drafting pleadings and other court documents, managing client communications, and advising clients on legal strategy and procedural matters.
Examples of work Laurence has undertaken includes drafting a Defence and Particulars of Claim, as well as preparing a response to a Letter Before Action in an intellectual property infringement claim. The latter resulted in the other side withdrawing their claim entirely.
Beyond purely contentious work, Laurence has also reviewed a client’s terms and conditions and drafted targeted amendments designed to strengthen their contractual position and specifically to reduce their exposure to non-payment by future counterparties.
