Kirsty is an Associate in the Private Client team, specialising in succession and estate planning in Agricultural/Rural matters, working closely with other professionals including accountants and land agents to achieve the most desirable outcome for the client.

Kirsty advises on all types of Private Client matters but has a special interest in Agricultural and Rural work. Kirsty is also experienced in acting for vulnerable clients and is a full member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers.

Kirsty has experience in:

  • Advising clients in relation to succession and estate planning, including the best way to provide for the next generation whilst protecting assets, and mitigating any potential tax liability
  • Drafting Farming Partnership Agreements
  • Advising on and drafting Wills including those involving agricultural or business assets, Life Interest Trusts or Discretionary Trusts
  • Advising on and drafting lifetime Trusts
  • Dealing with the administration of taxable and non-taxable estates, including applications for Agricultural Property Relief and/or Business Property Relief and Loss on Sale Relief and acting for both professional and lay Executors
  • Assisting both professional and lay Trustees with the administration of Trusts
  • Drafting Deeds of Variation for beneficiaries
  • Advising clients in relation to lifetime gifting
  • Preparation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney for both Property and Financial Affairs and Health and Welfare
  • Registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney
  • Full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP)
  • Full member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers (formerly Solicitors for the Elderly)
  • Member of the Country Land and Business Association
