Anna is a second-year Trainee Solicitor in our Commercial team, based in Newcastle.
In Anna’s previous seat in social housing, her experience includes:
- Attending trials and hearings at court in respect of possession claims against tenants. These claims can range from trespass cases, to anti-social behaviour, to breach of tenancy.
- Drafting the key documents in a possession claim including the particulars of claim, claim form, and witness statements.
- Drafting the key documents in disrepair claims brought against our clients such as instructions to counsel, defences, and allocation submissions.
- Drafting the key documents involved in injunction applications against tenants, such as the injunction application and draft injunction order.
- General case management including diarising and adhering to key deadlines such as deadlines for disclosure, and liaising with the client and third parties in this respect.
- Drafting liability reports where disrepair claims are brought against us by tenants so we can advise the client on potential liability.
Prior to that, Anna sat in the Planning team, with experience including:
- Drafting legal agreements such as s106 agreements and deeds of variation and assisting with complex drafting.
- Running small matters from receiving instructions from the client through to completion of a legal agreement, with supervision.
- Attended several client meetings and also attended a site visit and a planning inquiry.
- Drafted due diligence reports for colleagues in other departments to advice on planning risks of a proposed development.
- Undertook legal research on nuanced and technical points of planning law.
- Gained experience in the contentious area of planning, preparing bundles for planning inquiries and assisting in the drafting of legal submissions.
