Owen’s experience includes:
- Advising one of the UK’s largest challenger banks on the workout and restructure of its defaulting loan accounts;
- Advising administrators of a developer on the build-out of a student accommodation scheme, including the engagement of new building contractors, settling rights-to-lights claims, and onward sale of the finished site
- Advising on the funding aspects upon takeover of a number of Premier League and Football League clubs, and the disposal of a Football League club by administrators;
- Advising the mortgagee of prime office space in London on the fallout of the bankruptcy of WeWork
- Acting for professional sports clubs in obtaining third-party finance, including public grants for stadium improvements and the assignment or factoring of receivables, such as player transfer payments and television revenue
- Advising insolvency practitioners on an exit from administration of a golf club via a CVA
- Advising administrators of a property investment company regarding a claim for collective enfranchisement, which established new law in the Court of Appeal
