Ward Hadaway advises on investment in digital marketing agency

LAW firm Ward Hadaway has advised on a £500,000 investment in a digital marketing agency.

Melanie Yeomans, Corporate Partner in the firm’s Manchester office led the team advising Enterprise Ventures, manager of the North West Fund for Venture Capital, on the investment in Liverpool-based Ph. Creative Limited.

Established in 2004 by managing director Bryan Adams, Ph.Creative’s customers include Dulux Decorator Centres, Bibby, Nationwide, Mastercard and Michelin.

It is accredited by Google and is the official Google North West partner for its Getting British Business Online project, which aims to help businesses harness the power of digital media.

Ph. Creative will use the funding to further its aims to become a leading national digital media agency.

As part of the investment, the company has appointed Steve Turnock as its non-executive chairman. Mr Turnock has previously been involved in two successful private equity-backed businesses, TrainStation and Practice Plan.

Melanie said: “Ph. Creative has ambitious plans for its future development so we were very pleased to be able to work with Enterprise Ventures to conclude this investment.”

Will Clark and Lisa Ward from Enterprise Ventures worked on the funding.

Investment director Will Clark said: “Ph.Creative is a young, fast-growing company with an impressive client base and a track record for implementing projects in a smooth and efficient manner.

“This investment will support the company’s growth plans and help create high-value jobs at a time when funding for small firms is extremely difficult to find.”

This is the latest in a series of investments from the £155m North West Fund which Ward Hadaway has advised on.

The firm has previously provided legal advice on investments in businesses including an online clothing retailer, a drug discovery company, a nano-scale sensor business and the manufacturer of personalised nicotine patches.
