Award-winning Ward Hadaway retains silver Investors in People status
15th October, 2018
Ward Hadaway has achieved the silver Investors in People (IiP) award for the second time running throughout a period of strategic review and structural change within the business.
The accreditation found the majority of the firm’s people feel valued for their hard work, efforts and achievements and that a variety of approaches are adopted in recognising and rewarding people. The firm benchmarked higher than competitors in the legal sector across all nine themes of the IiP framework.
As part of Ward Hadaway’s recent strategic review there is now a more informal approach to the dress code and the firm has placed further emphasis on health and wellbeing – with the introduction of free fruit once a week for all of its people and flu vaccinations to support a healthy winter.
The firm is also focused on encouraging an active lifestyle among its 500-strong workforce across Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle, through in-house football, netball and touch-rugby teams. It also has its own running club, the Hadaway Harriers.
Kerry MacFarlane, a new trainee with Ward Hadaway’s Property team, took part in the relay.
She said: “I received a really warm welcome on my first day and enjoyed the social get-together after work. My second week has seen me taking part in Three Points North to raise funds for charity which helped me get to know people across the business. It’s been a really exciting start to my career with Ward Hadaway.”
“I’m delighted we have achieved this given the efforts that the management team have taken to promote and embed our strategy.”
