Ward Hadaway secures place on major NHS framework

LAW firm Ward Hadaway has won a place on a major NHS framework to provide legal advice to more than 80 healthcare organisations across the country.

The firm, which has offices in Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester, has been chosen by the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOE CPC) to offer its legal services to all members of the CPC for the next four years.

Ward Hadaway was chosen following a competitive tender exercise where it was given the highest ranking in terms of the quality of its submission of all the 12 firms chosen to appear on the panel.

The firm can now offer its legal services to the 82 organisations who are members of NOE CPC and who buy goods and services via the procurement collaborative.

NOE CPC is hosted by Leeds and York Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust and provides collaborative and bespoke procurement solutions to the public sector.

NOE CPC members include NHS Foundation Trusts and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in locations ranging from the Essex to the North East as well as Health Education England.

Jeffrey Keeble, Partner and Head of Healthcare at Ward Hadaway, said: “We are delighted to have secured a place on this prestigious framework.

“The North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative is a major hub for organisations in the public sector to procure goods and services at the best value for taxpayers and competition to secure a place on the framework for legal services is fierce.

“As a firm, we needed to demonstrate not only expertise and experience across a range of different areas in the healthcare sector, but also to show how cost-effective our services are and how we can deliver added value to organisations.

“The fact that we have not only secured a place on the framework but also that we did so with the highest marks is testament to the abilities and dedication of our substantial healthcare team at Ward Hadaway and to its national reach and quality.

“We look forward to working with NOE CPC members over the next four years to help them deliver their vital services to people across the country.”

The appointment is the latest in a series of significant wins for Ward Hadaway in the healthcare sector.

In 2015, the firm won a place on the legal panel of NHS Commercial Solutions, part of one of the largest NHS procurement partnerships in England.

Ward Hadaway was one of only nine law firms in the country chosen to provide advice on a total of nine different areas including primary care, mental health law, corporate and commercial law, employment law and property law.

NHS Commercial Solutions is part of the NHS Commercial Alliance, which provides procurement support for around 70 different NHS organisations, mainly in the East and South East of England, helping them to maximize their spending.

Ward Hadaway was chosen by NHS Commercial Alliance for a four-year appointment following a competitive tender process.

The firm is also on the legal panels for NHS Shared Business Services, NHS Business Services Authority, North of England CCG Legal Service Framework and NHS London Procurement Partnership.

Ward Hadaway currently provides legal support to more than 70 NHS organisations across England in locations ranging from the Scottish Borders to Cornwall.
