Ward Hadaway Built Environment Team support Strata Homes in Total Warrior fundraising

Lawyers from our Built Environment Team recently joined client Strata Homes for the annual Total Warrior event.

The gruelling 12 kilometre course involved terrifying obstacles such as ‘The Human BBQ’ (see picture), ‘The Plunge’ and ‘The Shocker’. Despite taking place in the serene location of Bramham Park in Leeds, this was anything but relaxing for those involved.

Whilst recovering from the extreme physical exertion Simon Hellewell, a partner in our Leeds office, explained why it was such an honour to be involved:

“We were very pleased to have been invited by the team at Strata Homes to join them in attempting the Total Warrior challenge. They had put together a team of over 90 competitors really underlining Strata’s commitment to supporting charitable causes.”

Final figures are still being calculated but Strata’s super group of entrants are expected to have raised over £18,000 for their nominated Charity of the Year IDAS. IDAS is the largest specialist charity in Yorkshire supporting anyone experiencing or affected by domestic abuse or sexual violence.

Melissa Flynn, an associate in Ward Hadaway’s Newcastle office who took part, said “This was the first Total Warrior I have done. Despite taking days to get rid of all the mud, it was an amazing event and we are very proud to have played our part in assisting Strata to raise so much money.”
