Modern Slavery Statement: are you ready for Home Office audit?

The Home Office’s most recent deadline to publish Modern Slavery Statements expired on 31 March. Since then, they have written final reminder letters to businesses who they consider to be at risk of non-compliance.

The letters make it clear that the Home Office is now progressing with its plan to audit businesses, publish a list of non-compliant businesses, and they also warn that they might seek to enforce the legislation through the courts.

Have you published your statement and does it meet the correct legal requirements?
