Rebecca is a Solicitor in the Social Housing Litigation team based in our Leeds office.

Having joined Ward Hadaway as a trainee in 2020, Rebecca qualified as a solicitor in 2022 and has experiences in advising social housing landlord’s in all aspects of housing management.

Rebecca advises clients on all aspects of housing management, including possession proceedings and injunction proceedings (both anti-social behaviour and breach of tenancy). She also assists clients in defending disrepair claims (both pre-issue and litigated) and Environmental Protection Act claims.

Rebecca regularly attends County Court hearings to advocate on behalf of clients in respect of a range of matters.

Experience

  • Successfully defended a claim for housing disrepair to trial on behalf of an RP and secured an Order for adverse costs against the Claimant’s solicitors.
  • Regularly secures Anti-social Behaviour Injunctions against problematic tenants on behalf of RPs and, where necessary, pursues contempt of court proceedings for breaches of injunctions.
  • Regularly secures Possession Orders for RPs on various grounds, including rent arrears, anti-social behaviour and breach of tenancy.
