Experienced employment lawyer joins Ward Hadaway
28th March, 2023
We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new legal director to our employment team based in our Manchester office.
Charlotte Nuttall, who joins us with over a decade of specialist experience in employment law, has advised on a wide range of employment and HR legal matters ranging from disciplinaries, grievances and performance management issues to redundancy exercises, re-structure processes and TUPE.
Charlotte has worked with a diverse range of businesses, from PLCs to privately owned SMEs in many sectors, providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice to HR personnel and other decision makers on all aspects of employment law.
Her focus is on continuing the growth of the Manchester employment team, extending the reach and further building its reputation as a leading adviser in employment law matters across the North West region.
Harmajinder Hayre, head of employment at Ward Hadaway, said: “Charlotte’s appointment adds strength and depth to our highly talented and experienced employment team. In her role as director, she will help to shape the next chapter of growth in the North West and nationally.
“Charlotte’s experience and skills complement the existing team perfectly and her commercial astuteness will ensure we meet our clients’ needs and growth objectives simultaneously. I wish her a warm welcome.”
Our Manchester team is 55-people strong and we recently completed an extensive transformation of the Manchester office to create a modern, agile workplace. In 2022, the office reported a strong financial performance with an increase of more than 25 per cent in turnover.
Talking about her new role, Charlotte said: “Ward Hadaway has often been the law firm representing the other party in cases I have been involved with and its lawyers always impressed me with how professional, talented and experienced they are. The firm has a strong, well respected employment team across the North and I’m looking forward to being part of that, with a particular focus on working closely with partner Caroline Shafar to help grow the team and our offering in the North West.
“Whilst the potential to develop the department attracted me to the role, what really appealed was the character and culture of Ward Hadaway and the people at the organisation that make it the firm it is today. There’s a real sense of togetherness and a shared passion for the same set of values and goals. It’s clear that Ward Hadaway genuinely invests in its people as individuals, and that’s apparent right across the team from trainee to executive partner level. It’s great to be on board.”
Caroline Shafar, partner, added “Charlotte joins the Manchester office at a really exciting time as we continue to strengthen our team to support our growing client base. I am excited to be working with Charlotte and to have her expertise within the team.”
