Join us for the upcoming Autumn Term edition of our Housing Management Law School.

The Law School is free to attend and exists to deliver training to Registered Providers of Social Housing across the country, educating and updating their housing management staff on case law, legislation and policy changes impacting registered providers over the last six months.

Hot topic: The Crime and Policing Act

The Crime and Policing Act 2026 started coming into force at the end of June this year. The statutory guidance has been updated, and revised procedural rules for both Respect Orders and Closure Orders supporting the implementation of the Crime and Policing Act 2026, with the main changes come into force on 26 October 2026. This provides us a timely opportunity to consider in-depth what practitioners will need to be familiar with ahead of the changes.

Revision topic: Access injunctions

Access enforcement is an increasingly busy area for Registered Providers, with the need to enter properties to carry out Building Safety, Fire Safety, Mould and Damp works, respond to disrepair claims in addition to the traditional need for periodic Gas Servicing and EICR reports as categories where legal action is needed for compliance. In this session we will review the methods and tools available, recent court authorities for forced access, and the curtailment for local authorities to their historical use of powers under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
