Ted is currently undertaking a seat in the Construction team, advising regional and national clients on a range of non-contentious and contentious construction matters.
He has experience assisting with the drafting and review of construction contracts, collateral warranties and ancillary project documentation, supporting clients throughout the lifecycle of construction and development projects. His work has involved helping clients identify and manage legal and commercial risks at each stage of a project.
Alongside this, Ted has assisted on contentious matters, including dispute resolution processes, mediations and settlement negotiations. He has supported clients in resolving construction disputes and preparing settlement agreements, gaining valuable insight into the practical and strategic considerations involved in achieving commercial outcomes.
During this seat, Ted has developed a deeper understanding of the construction sector and the challenges faced by those delivering complex projects. He enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues and clients to provide practical, commercially focused solutions while continuing to develop his technical legal expertise.
Ted previously sat in the Housing team, where he assisted on matters for some of the region’s largest housebuilders. His work included supporting large plot purchases, drafting associated documentation, and contributing to site acquisitions and land disposals to registered providers. Ted also reviewed option agreements and infrastructure agreements, liaised with HM Land Registry and Councils, and undertook site visits to gain practical insight into projects.
As part of his training contract, Ted is eager to gain exposure to a variety of both contentious and non-contentious work, broadening his legal expertise and developing a well-rounded skill set.
Ted studied at Northumbria University, where he completed his LLM alongside the LPC. During his time at university, he served as a peer mentor and contributed to the pro bono legal clinic, gaining experience working on commercial matters.
