Iona is a Trainee Solicitor in the Real Estate team at Ward Hadaway, where she has also spent some time as a paralegal.
She has experience advising on a range of property transactions, including landlord and tenant matters, as well as the acquisition of commercial and agricultural land. Her time in the team has provided her with knowledge in transactional property work and a fundamental understanding of providing exemplary client service.
Prior to joining Ward Hadaway, Iona worked as a paralegal in the Dispute Resolution team at Swinburne Maddison, where she gained exposure to housing litigation and developed an interest in contentious property matters.
Iona is involved in the firm’s Social Committee and also supports The Teesside Charity, participating in initiatives such as a skydive to help to raise awareness and funds to support local people and worthwhile causes in the area.
Iona holds an undergraduate degree from Durham University and has recently completed the LPC with an LLM in Business and Law at the University of Law. During her academic studies, Iona explored the regulatory challenges posed by emerging technologies, completing dissertations on digital finance and artificial intelligence—areas she continues to follow with interest as the digital world continues to grow.
