New Partner joins Ward Hadaway’s property team

LAW firm Ward Hadaway has further strengthened the award-winning property team at its Newcastle office with the recruitment of a new Partner.

Kamran Hyder brings with him more than 15 years’ experience in all areas of planning and highways law, covering both contentious and non-contentious matters and advising on a number of major projects.

He particularly acts for house builders from both the public and private sectors and has advised on a number of major housing schemes for developers, landowners and local authorities.

Kamran has also provided strategic planning advice to national house builders on the delivery and integration of affordable housing and has delivered seminars on the subject to house builders, Registered Providers of social housing and professional bodies including the RTPI and RICS.

In addition, Kamran has advised the promoters of large scale infrastructure projects such as the New Tyne Crossing and the Intersite Bridge that spans the Central Motorway in Newcastle.

More recently, he led on the planning advice securing the delivery of the flagship Newcastle Science Central development.

Kamran has been described by independent legal guide Legal 500 as “a knowledgeable and committed lawyer” while independent legal directory Chambers & Partners said he was “knowledgeable and answers questions in plain English”, noting that he “is regularly instructed by significant clients in the housebuilding industry”.

Kamran is now part of the current Property Team of the Year – the title which Ward Hadaway’s property team won at the 2015 Northern Law Awards.
