Tim Craig has experience acting on contentious and non-contentious matters, including those with an international element.
Recognised by both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners legal directories for many years, Tim is acknowledged as an expert in both non-contentious and contentious construction and engineering.
He is noted for his experience with public sector, private and social housing and commercial and industrial development. In addition he has considerable experience acting for clients in education, health, ports, civil and offshore engineering and energy.
Outside work, Tim is a trustee for The Sick Children’s Trust and he has acted as the solicitor and a main committee member for the Northern Counties Kidney Research Fund for many years, both of which are entirely voluntary positions.
Projects on which he has advised include:
- Advising South Tees Development Corporation on the procurement of a £150m demolition framework for the re-development of the Redcar steelworks;
- Advising NTW Solutions Ltd (part of the Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS Foundation Trust) on the construction of a new medium secure mental health facility and other works;
- Advising Newcastle Science Central Management LLP, a joint venture between Newcastle City Council, Newcastle University and Legal & General, in respect of site wide infrastructure and other construction works for Newcastle Helix;
- Advising an international food manufacturing group on the development of a €40m food processing plant outside Moscow;
- Advising a multi-academy trust on the funding, procurement and construction of an £18m academy extension and refurbishment;
- Advising a UK port on the development of a renewable fuel unloading, storage, management and transport facility;
- Advising the builder of two oil exploration rigs for the North Sea in the conduct and settlement of international arbitration proceedings with claims in excess of US$500m;
- Advising a design, supply and installation subcontractor in the conduct and settlement of arbitration proceedings valued in excess of £50m relating to an underground railway.
