I am a fiancé/proposed civil partner – what requirements do I need to meet?

To be eligible for this visa, you will need to show that you are a fiancé or proposed civil partner of a British citizen and will marry or enter into a civil partnership in the UK within 6 months of your arrival.  You will need to provide documentary evidence to show this with your visa application.

You will also need to show that you:

  • are in a “genuine and subsisting relationship”;
  • have a good knowledge of English (see below);
  • can financially support yourself and your dependants (see below); and
  • can satisfy the “accommodation requirement”.
