Heather Markham is balanced, commercial and hugely knowledgeable. Heather has an excellent understanding of our business.
She advises clients on a diverse range of commercial property transactions, including office, retail, industrial and charitable/community use projects.
Her work also includes dealing with all aspects of leasehold arrangements including the initial grant, assignments, under-lettings, alterations and surrenders on behalf of landlords and tenants.
Heather also advises a broad range of charities in connection with their property portfolios and property matters generally.
Projects on which she has advised include:
- Acting on behalf of a major national retailer on all property law aspects of their property estate in the North of England, including complex retail development projects including acquisitions involving conditional contracts, options, development agreements and overage
- Led the team acting for police and crime commissioner on general estate matters and the acquisition and disposal of property, including overage
- Advised a regional development company in connection with all aspects of its property estate including title matters, lease arrangements and sales and acquisitions
- Acting on the development and letting of a large mixed use site intended for extra care residential accommodation, community centre and youth centre
- Acting on the redevelopment of a historic city centre building with national importance which involved several funders and required various consents from the Charity Commission
- Led the team acting for a regional arm of an international charity on the sale of a large inner city building
