The company has entered into a 10-year lease on a 15,155 sq ft office at Central Square, just behind Newcastle Central train station.

Orchard Information Systems moved from Kings Manor, near the central motorway in Newcastle, where the company had been based since 1995.

The newly fitted out premises in Central Square provide Orchard with space for further expansion of its current 200-strong workforce.

The company was established in 1979 and is the largest independent provider of complete end to end business solutions to the UK social housing sector, helping providers to manage all aspects of their businesses including housing management, financial management and property and asset management.

Tessa Petrides, Solicitor, and Alex Wright, Partner in the occupiers and investors team in the property department at Ward Hadaway, provided legal advice to Orchard on its move to the new premises.

Tessa said: “We are delighted to have helped Orchard to move to its new home.

“Ward Hadaway has been advising the company on a wide range of matters since 1992 so it was important for us to ensure that the move went smoothly and with as little disruption to operations as possible.

“The new offices look superb and we are sure that they will help Orchard Information Systems to continue going from strength to strength.”

Nick Lambert, Finance Director at Orchard Information Systems, said: “Having been in our previous offices for over twenty years, it was vital that our new premises provided the right atmosphere for the business and allowed the company to grow further.

“Ward Hadaway’s help was invaluable in sorting out the legal and commercial arrangements with our old and new landlords.

“Everyone here is delighted to be working in brilliant new offices at the heart of the up and coming Stephenson Quarter. The new offices are a fantastic showcase for the company. Our customers from across the whole of the UK have long enjoyed coming to visit us in Newcastle and the new offices provide us with the setting and facilities to make those visits even more worthwhile.

“With such an important move, it is vital knowing that you can trust your advisers to deliver the best deal for your business and this is just what Alex, Tessa and the team at Ward Hadaway did.”

The Property Team at Ward Hadaway advises a wide range of occupiers, investors, developers and owners and is the current Northern Law Awards Property Team of the Year.
