Ward Hadaway appoints new head of HR

LAW firm Ward Hadaway has appointed a former senior human resources executive from transport giant Arriva as its new director of HR.

The Sunderland University graduate was HR Business Partner for Arriva’s mainland European operations, where she delivered commercially focused HR strategies on a pan-European scale.

Lisa, who holds an MSc in Human Resources Management, said: “I am delighted to be joining Ward Hadaway.

“Ward Hadaway works with a fantastic range of clients and recognises people are key to its success. The firm has experienced consistent growth in spite of a tough economic backdrop, which is testimony to the great people and culture that exist.

“It’s an exciting time to join and I’m looking forward to contributing to the firms continued growth and success. The firm has an excellent reputation in a sector which is dealing with a lot of changes.

“My key priority will be to develop a HR strategy that supports the firm and its growth in an ever-changing legal landscape whilst ensuring client care continues to remain at the heart of everything we do.”

In the year to the end of April 2013, Ward Hadaway saw its annual turnover rise by 10% to a record £33m despite a challenging time for the legal sector.

The UK Top 100 firm, which has offices in Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester, saw income rise by £3m to £33m on the back of significant investment.

The results represented a fourth consecutive year of growth for the firm, which employs more than 400 people across the North.
