Six newly-qualified solicitors join Ward Hadaway

Ward Hadaway law firm has welcomed six newly-qualified solicitors to its offices across Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester.

The six new recruits are Jamie Bell, Liam Stubbs, Lois Thwaites and Jennifer Scott, who will be based in the firm’s Newcastle office. Jodi Seddon joins the Manchester team and Sarah Wintle is working at the firm’s Leeds office.

During their two-year training contracts, the NQs worked in different departments to get a flavour of various areas of law, including Corporate, Commercial, Healthcare, Private Client and Family and Matrimonial.

Across the company, Ward Hadaway has a reputation for promoting within wherever possible and the newly-qualified solicitors follow in the footsteps of more than 60 Ward Hadaway people who all joined the firm as trainees.

This includes many senior members of the team, including Corporate partner Katherine Hay-Heddle, Banking and Finance partner, Imogen Holland, Commercial Litigation partner Russell Ward, Employment partner Stuart Craig and Property partners Neil Smith and Heather Markham to name just a few.

Jennifer Scott said: “I am delighted to have been able to train with a firm of Ward Hadaway’s calibre, and to have subsequently been offered a qualified position.

“My training contract has been a great opportunity to gain experience of a range of legal areas and to learn from highly-trained specialists and I am very grateful for all of the support and guidance that my colleagues have provided along the way.”

Jodi Seddon added: “I have really enjoyed my time with Ward Hadaway as a trainee. Martin Karran and the other lawyers have all passed on a great deal of knowledge and experience and I am ready for the challenge ahead.

“I feel particularly privileged to be working in the Family and Matrimonial team. The challenge of understanding and resolving family disputes is one that greatly appeals to me. It gives me an opportunity to use my insight to bring clear solutions to clients.”

2018 marks a very special year for the firm as it is celebrates 30 years in business, with a decade in Leeds and six years in Manchester.
