Corporate big hitters join Ward Hadaway

TWO of the North West’s most experienced Corporate lawyers have joined the Manchester office of law firm Ward Hadaway.

Sean FitzGerald and Paul Johnson have both joined the Top 100 UK law firm as Partners after more than 25 years working together on deals across the North West and nationally.

Both have held senior positions at previous firms with Sean a former national Head of Corporate at Cobbetts.

The two have worked on a wide range of transactions, including sales, acquisitions, mergers, investments and private equity deals.

Recent transactions Sean has advised on include the sale of bespoke furniture company Neville Johnson to Alcuin Capital Partners while Paul has advised on deals including the acquisition of a North West dairy business.

Sean said: “I am delighted to be joining Ward Hadaway. The firm has really been making its presence felt in the North West market and has exciting plans to grow further.

“I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues at Ward Hadaway and to helping clients fulfil their commercial goals.”

Paul Johnson said: “Ward Hadaway already has an excellent corporate team in place and hopefully our arrival will enhance the firm’s offering still further.

“We have already hit the ground running here, having completed the Neville Johnson transaction at the end of May. We have a number of other deals in the pipeline which we are looking to complete in the next few weeks.”

Martin Hulls, Head of Corporate at Ward Hadaway, said: “It is terrific to be able to welcome on board Sean and Paul.

“They are a truly formidable team with an outstanding breadth of experience and knowledge and their undoubted abilities will add greatly to our existing corporate team in Manchester and enable us to offer an even better service to our clients.”

Martin added: “The continuing expansion of our Corporate team in Manchester brings our team to over 25 lawyers across the firm reflects our determination to continue investing in the finest legal talent to grow our business here.”
