Heather is a Partner in the Development Team at Ward Hadaway.

Heather acts for commercial property clients, including developers, retailers and investors in connection with the acquisition, development and disposal of commercial property.

Experience

She has extensive experience of advising on a variety of complex retail developments including acquisitions involving conditional contracts, options, development agreements and overage.

She has advised clients on a diverse range of commercial property transactions, including office, retail, industrial  and charitable/community use projects.

Her work also includes dealing with all aspects of leasehold arrangements including the initial grant, assignments, under-lettings, alterations and surrenders on behalf of landlords and tenants.

Heather also advises a broad range of charities in connection with their property portfolios and property matters generally.

Projects on which she has advised include:

  • Acting on behalf of a major retailer on all property law aspects of their property estate in the North of England. Heather also advises on a variety of complex retail development projects including acquisitions involving conditional contracts, options, development agreements and overage.
  • Advising on the recent letting of a mixed use development as part of the regeneration of a city centre underground railway station
  • Advising on the sale of a large rural hotel with a large rural estate. In addition to dealing with the commercial property, the transaction also involved fishing licences, other recreation agreements and agricultural tenancies
  • Advised a regional development company in connection with all aspects of its property estate including title matters, lease arrangements and sales and acquisitions.
