The Future of Tech – a panel discussion

Here at Ward Hadaway we are excited to host this panel discussion as part of this year's Leeds Digital Festival (23 April - 3 May).
Ward Hadaway’s expert tech team and guest panellists will deliver a thought-provoking and engaging discussion centred around:
- The growth of tech for social good
- The challenges for tech, including Brexit and the ongoing impact of GDPR
- Blockchain – is it time for practical use?
- The future for tech in Leeds
Simon McCaskill (Google / Digital Boost Academy)
Simon is one of Google’s European masterclass trainers and is the founder of the Leeds Boost digital training initiative. He has created and delivered training programs for the likes of the BBC, Natwest, eBay, and L’Oreal, as well as speaking around the world at key digital events. His success comes from his unique ability to simplify the online world and show you a new way of using digital as a tool to get the results you need for business growth, personal development, and well-being. Simon has a real passion for digital future gazing, looking ahead and asking ‘what’s next?’ and considering how people and business use these new advances to their advantage to help improve work and home life.
Tanja Lichtensteiger (Sky Betting and Gaming)
Tanja started coding at 8 years old and now, almost three decades on, works as Engineering Manager for Sky Betting & Gaming, managing and leading Software Engineering squads in a variety of cutting edge technology stacks as well as influencing the Bet tribe-wide strategy. She is an Engineer as well as a Manager and with 18 years’ experience of building systems under her belt, she believes in Tech’s positive impact on people’s lives and our futures. She has been featured and interviewed on BBC Radio 4 The Today Programme, BBC Look North, BBC Breakfast and BBC World News on the subject of Biohacking.
Rich Sutcliffe (Agency for Good)
Rich’s business Agency for Good delivers a range of digital marketing services to individuals, businesses and organisations across Yorkshire who are armed with a social purpose. They provide non-for-profits with free digital marketing support, providing an opportunity for them to become sustainable and profitable through the power of digital. Rich is also a director of Your Food Evolution, a not-for-profit providing cookery classes, with profits from paid for classes providing much needed classes to low income areas, those with recognised needs and for the promotion of health and independence, and to combat poverty, obesity and isolation.
Moderator – Nathan Bilton
Nathan is an associate at Ward Hadaway, specialising in technology. Along with acting for both suppliers and customers of IT services, he also spends a large amount of time seconded to an international software house and a national telecommunications company. He regularly presents on technology and data protection to clients and interest groups.
The session will be of interest to anybody in the tech sector and will provide a great opportunity to pose your questions to the panel and share opinions and insights with your peers.
