General Data Protection Regulation – the countdown begins (LEEDS)
05th July 2017
Ward Hadaway are delighted to be hosting this free seminar on Wednesday 5th July 2017 at our central Leeds office, where we will discuss the key issues regarding the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The General Data Protection Regulation will apply from 25th May 2018. It represents a significant tightening of how many businesses will be required to manage their business lifeblood – data – with much stiffer penalties if they breach. Is your business prepared?
Join us at this free breakfast seminar, where we will give you an update on many of the key issues including:
• What does GDPR mean to my business?
• What things do I need in place by next year to comply?
• Do I need to appoint a Data Protection Officer?
• What will constitute a breach, and what will I be required to do?
• What rights do individuals have?
The ICO has been issuing ongoing and updated information over the course of the last year, and this seminar will provide a perfect opportunity to find out the latest guidance behind this significant change in legislation. Hear from partner Gareth Yates, who is working on GDPR audits and compliance programmes with a number of businesses, and who can bring those experiences to bear on this session.
Aimed at senior management and in-house counsel, this seminar will help inform you, and enable you to assess the real impact that GDPR is likely to have on your own business.
We expect a significant take up for this event, and are limiting places to two per organisation. Please register early to avoid disappointment.
