GDPR – how to avoid being bitten!
17th September 2019
This seminar is now fully booked, due to popular demand we are planning to run a second session. To be added to our waiting list or for further information, please contact Chloe Atkinson on 0330 137 3017 or firstname.lastname@example.org
In the last couple of weeks, the ICO has shown that it has teeth and is not afraid to use them as it handed out some heavyweight fines to BA and the Marriot for their data breaches. It’s hard to believe it’s been well over a year since the new data protection regime came into force, with draconian fines for non-compliance, and so we thought it was time to get together for a GDPR update and refresher, to talk about how you can ensure you avoid being bitten.
Join us at this free breakfast briefing in Newcastle on 17th September where Ward Hadaway’s data protection specialists will discuss:
- GDPR general update – what’s new and how effective the new regulations have been to date.
- Breaches – a review of the breaches, fines and enforcement trends from across Europe and the key information you need to know.
- How to handle Data Subject Access Requests – a “hot topic” and one we are contacted about for advice on a daily basis.
The session will be accompanied by a Q&A, giving you the opportunity to ask GDPR compliance questions which are relevant to your business.
8.30am – Registration and breakfast
9.00am – Presentations
10.00am – Networking and close
Due to the expected popularity of this session, please note that we can only initially accept two bookings per organisation and once these have been filled we will operate a waiting list for additional spaces.
