We are delighted to invite you to a free seminar taking place at our Newcastle office on Wednesday 13th July, 8.30am – 10.30am.
The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is by far the biggest regulatory change in data protection law in 20 years. It will impose new and fundamental obligations on all businesses and organisations, who will have to get their house in order before it applies to them on 25th May 2018.
At Ward Hadaway, our renowned specialists in the field, Judy Baker and Phil Tompkins, are delivering a briefing on Wednesday 13th July. At the briefing, we are going to go through the ICO “twelve steps”, as well as outline what is known, and vitally what is not yet known, about becoming compliant. We will also share the timetable of when to expect further information from the regulators, and will discuss some of the specific points that arise from that.
Two years may seem like a long time, but the accompanying secondary legislation and guidance to the GDPR is yet to be published. So it is vital you know what to expect, now and in the future as the picture continues to emerge. With this information you can start to plan, make informed decisions around future-proofing processes and systems, and allocate appropriate resource to the project.
For some, ensuring compliance will be relatively straightforward. For others, it may go to the heart of your business.
We expect demand to be high, so we are initially limiting registrations to two per organisation.
