Duty of Candour – are you ready? (Leeds)
05th September 2014
The statutory Duty of Candour is due to be introduced on 1st October 2014.
- Is your Trust ready for this?
- Do your policies ensure compliance with the statutory requirements?
- Do your staff understand their obligations and the relevant timescales?
Ward Hadaway’s expert Healthcare Team are delighted to invite you to this free seminar at our Leeds office on Friday 5th September, 8.30am – 12.00pm, where we will guide you step-by-step through the new regulations.
We will be joined by Alan Gallagher, Head of Risk and Claims at North East Ambulance Service and Jeanette Beer, Safety & Learning Lead at the NHS Litigation Authority, ensuring you get the full picture from both a legal and practical perspective.
In this interactive session we will look at the processes Trusts will need to follow and the implications of non-compliance with the statutory duty from a legal perspective. Alan will give his firsthand experience of being put in the spotlight when things go wrong and the lessons his organisation has learned as a result and Jeanette will discuss the benefits of being open from a patient safety perspective.
Since the final report of the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry was published, being open and honest with patients has become a top priority making this session a must attend event.
