Apprenticeships – the essential guide (Manchester)
19th November 2014
Lord Sugar has just taken on his latest band of hopeful (some might say misguided!) apprentices for another round of hiring and firing, back in the real world we are seeing calls for more training opportunities continue to increase and party leaders putting apprenticeships high on their agendas as we approach next years election. Are you up-to-speed with this hot topic?
Ward Hadaway’s expert employment team are delighted to invite you to this free seminar taking place in our Manchester office on Wednesday 19th November where we will provide you with the essential tools and knowledge you need when you take on an apprentice. We will be joined by the Skills Funding Agency, who are the Government agency responsible for apprenticeships.
This means that as well as the legal perspective, the Skills Funding Agency will be on hand to go through the business benefits of taking on apprentices, the financial support available to you, the support you can expect from a training provider and how your business can get involved.
Together we will explore:
- How can I ensure the apprenticeship relationship is properly documented so it can be ended without legal repercussions?
- What are other potential ways of engaging and providing training to employees?
- Traineeships – what are they and how can they be used?
- How can I engage with local schools and colleges?
- How can I engage staff on a low cost basis using zero hours contracts, agency workers and temps?
This promises to be another stimulating and thought-provoking session which will benefit line managers and all those involved with HR issues.
