Laura Rostron | Associate, Public Sector
Laura is part of the public sector team, advising public and private sector clients on a wide variety of issues.
Experience
Laura advises primary care trusts and local authorities on NHS LIFT projects.
She has acted for a local authority in relation to its BSF scheme, which also includes the provision of a primary school and a number of academies. Laura has also worked on several major PFI deals.
Laura has experience in advising on all aspects of EU public procurement law. She has spent time on secondment at a regional development agency, advising on public procurement issues and working with the agency to develop its public procurement workbook.
She has also undertaken a secondment at an NHS procurement hub, providing advice on a range of procurement-related matters.
Laura undertakes a broad range of other public sector connected work, including the provision of contractual and constitutional advice. In the health sector, Laura is familiar with the concept of the ’commissioner / provider split’ and the new NHS standard form contracts, and has provided advice to Foundation Trusts on a variety of issues concerning their constitutions.
Laura has also advised on company law matters, company secretarial and governance issues, shareholders’ agreements and minority shareholder protection, trading contracts, agency arrangements, e-commerce and company start-ups, to private and quasi-public sector clients.
