Timothy has over 20 years experience as a Chartered Town Planner with five different local authorities, four of these in the North East, covering a broad range of statutory local planning, implementation of projects, conservation and development control work.
His experience has taken in a wide range of planning work including regeneration projects and public/private partnership working on housing, commercial and education projects.
At Ward Hadaway Tim works with private and public sector clients to deliver high quality, sustainable development across the northern region.

Tim has extensive experience in the negotiation of major development schemes and liaison with government agencies. He has had a leading role in bringing forward difficult brownfield sites, resolving issues such as contaminated land and providing enabling development through Section 106 agreements.
He has experience in preparing evidence on planning appeals, giving evidence to Public Inquiries and Hearings, and preparing planning briefs and design statements.
Tim has been involved in regional initiatives aimed at improving the quality of design and has handled a number of proposals for renewable energy developments including Environmental Impact Assessment.
He also has extensive experience in dealing with rural planning issues, including farm diversification proposals and other agricultural developments, and the need to protect landscapes and biodiversity interests.
In professional circles Tim has delivered presentations to RTPI seminars on issues such as affordable housing, and maintains a keen interest in the latest changes in planning law and practice and how these influence the prospects of obtaining planning permission and shape the quality of the environment.
