Keith Wilkinson | Associate, Property
Keith joined the firm as an Associate in the Property Department in September 2007.
He was head of Middlesbrough Council’s Property Law Team and was recruited into private practice in 1998.
Experience
Keith has been the lead lawyer in many of the major local authority and regeneration projects in the Tees Valley and is an expert on complex development agreements and related issues such as compulsory purchase, highways and town and village greens.
He has acted on a large number of high profile development schemes.
These include Middlesbrough Council’s town centre redevelopment at Captain Cook Square and the redevelopment of a site in the town as a ten screen multiplex cinema.
For Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council Keith acted in the town centre development at Regent Walk, handling the compulsory purchase of over 200 land interests as well as agreements leading to the development of a Morrisons supermarket and 23 retail units.
He also dealt with the Courts development at Redcar, a commercial development incorporating community facilities, supported by the provision of over 300 new residential units.
Keith has also acted for regeneration companies in Hartlepool and Middlesbrough, negotiating development agreements for the regeneration of housing areas with New Deal for Communities funding, as well as acting for NHS Trusts, English Partnerships, and regional development agency One NorthEast.
