Katharine Barratt | Assistant Solicitor, Commercial Litigation

Katharine qualified into the Commercial Litigation team as a newly qualified solicitor in September 2007, having spent a year of her training contract in the department.

She gained experience in a wide variety of cases during this time.

Katharine's experience includes assisting in:

• Obtaining urgent injunctive relief in a high profile contractual claim followed by intensive preparation of evidence including drafting witness statements and collation of substantial documentation
• Achieving favourable settlement terms for a client whose partnership had broken down
• Resolving a shareholder dispute concerning claims of fraudulent misrepresentation before an expedited trial
• A complex high value insurance dispute
• The enforcement of a FOS decision for professional negligence against an Independent Financial Advisor
• A contested probate action including attendance at a successful mediation.
