Charlie joins the team as an Associate after six and a half years working for Eversheds, initially in Manchester and then in London.
The Durham University graduate specialises in acquisitions and disposals of companies, group reorganisations, private equity transactions and general corporate legal advice.
He has worked on and project managed deals across a variety of sectors including healthcare, aviation and defence, insurance and manufacturing, often with an international element.
Previous deals Charlie has worked on include advising the shareholders of a private international group of companies in the insurance sector on a share disposal and advising a FTSE 100 company on a business and asset disposal.
He also spent four months on secondment at global finance group Citi Bank where he provided general corporate advice.
Charlie is now a key member of Ward Hadaway’s five-strong specialist OMB team, which is headed by corporate finance partner Robert Thompson.
Charlie said: “I am really pleased to be joining Ward Hadaway. The firm has a growing national reputation for the quality of the work it carries out and the emphasis it places on top quality client care.
“Robert Thompson’s team has carved out a real niche for itself when it comes to working on more complex, international deals and I am looking forward to helping this success continue.”
Robert Thompson said: “Charlie has the ideal experience and qualities to make a real impact as part of the specialist OMB team so we are delighted to have him on board.
“The team prides itself on using its in-depth expertise to work on both complex international multi-million pound deals and smaller local deals alike, an approach which we feel saves our clients valuable time and expense.
“I am sure Charlie will be a great asset to the team and to our clients.”
Ward Hadaway’s corporate finance expertise has led to the firm being chosen to edit the book widely regarded as the lawyers’ dealmaking bible for the past three editions.
Sinclair on Warranties and Indemnities on Share and Asset Sales is consulted by law firms across the country when advising clients on buying and selling businesses.
The latest edition of the guide – the 8th – is the third consecutive edition to be edited by Robert Thompson and also features expert contributions from other Ward Hadaway lawyers on areas including tax, pensions, property, employment, IT, data protection and insolvency.
