Seal of approval strengthens Family Law team | 23 July 10
THE Family Law team at leading North law firm Ward Hadaway has been further strengthened after another of its members secured the official seal of approval from a specialist legal group.
Family strength – the Family Law team at law firm Ward Hadaway (from left) Louise Cannell-Mirza, Julia Middleton, Jonathan Flower and Sarah Crilly.
Solicitor Julia Middleton is the latest in the team to attain Accredited Specialist status from specialist family lawyers’ organisation Resolution.
Resolution is a professional organisation for Family Lawyers which promotes a non-confrontational approach to family problems, encouraging solutions that consider the needs of the whole family and in particular, the best interests of children.
All members of Ward Hadaway’s Family Law team are members of Resolution and Julia is the second to achieve Accredited Specialist status.
Jonathan Flower, partner and Head of Family Law at Ward Hadaway, said: “This is really great news for Julia but also for the firm and our clients.
“Julia now joins her colleague Sarah Crilly, Associate in the Family Law team, as a holder of Accredited Specialist status and provides further evidence of Ward Hadaway’s willingness to invest in its staff in order to provide clients with the best possible advice and service.
“To obtain the Accredited Specialist status requires a significant amount of studying and rigorous examination.
“Needless to say, for Julia and Sarah to have passed the examination is a testament to their hard work, dedication and professionalism.”
The Family Law Team at Ward Hadaway deals with a very wide range of issues for clients ranging from divorce, issues for unmarried couples, adoption, domestic violence as well as disputes concerning children, including the involvement of Local Authorities.
Jonathan Flower said: “Difficult economic times over recent months and years have brought considerable strain upon families.
“When such strains lead people to seek legal advice about their family situation, it is vital that they know they are getting the best possible advice and from lawyers who are focused upon providing them with realistic solutions to their problems.
“At a time when some law firms are cutting back on the personal and family legal services which they provide, we at Ward Hadaway believe it is vital that we not only maintain such services, but that we enhance them, as Julia’s Accredited Specialist status does.
“We find in our experience that clients expect their advisors to be able to deal with all aspects of their needs, rather than being referred to another firm of solicitors.
“It is also an advantage from our point of view to be able to draw on the considerable expertise of our colleagues in areas such as Corporate Finance, Tax, Agriculture, Property and Private Client, since it helps us to deal with a diverse range of clients and client needs, from high value complex divorce settlements to disputes and arrangements for children.”
In addition to Accredited Specialist status, Ward Hadaway’s Family Law team’s expertise is also recognised with membership of the Children Panel and Family Law Panel.
Independent guides to the UK legal profession, such as Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, also rate the team as regionally recognised experts in Family Law, calling the members “highly regarded” and “very efficient”.
